THE BLUE LAKE CAVE (Gruta Azul)

Located 21 km from Bonito.

This blue lake inside a large cave is considered the postcard of Bonito and without a doubt one of the treasures of the Serra da Bodoquena (Mountains).

It is accessed by descending a rock stairway of almost 300 steps until reaching the center of one of the largest flooded underground areas in the world. The cave houses in its interior an underground lake that shines an intense blue color when hit by sun rays along the day.

Discovered in 1924 by a Terena Indian, the Blue Lake Cave is one of the most important caves in the national speleological heritage and due to its exceptional value it was designated as a National Historical and Artistic Heritage.

In addition to the unusual underground landscape, the cave has a concentration of Pleistocene mammal fossils and a set of rare minerals. Since the cave has a large opening facing outside, it allows natural lighting in, which provides tourist activities with low environmental impact.

SUCURI RIVER BAR (Barra del Rio Sucurí)

The Sucuri (Anaconda) River Bar is located in the AGUA AZUL property, 16 km from Bonito.

Once we arrive at the farm and after donning the appropriate equipment, the activity begins with a walk along a 400-meter path, passing through small springs until reaching the Figueira (Fig Tree) lookout point where, on a platform at the top of the tree, you can see hundreds of micro bubbling volcano-like springs, where water is thrown out forming a synchronized ballet of small sand particles.

Soon after this, the floatation down river begins for 1,800 meters with a generous, light current and a water temperature of 22º on average, where you can see an unparalleled spectacle of underwater flora and fauna.

A support boat with the guide accompanies the entire tour, allowing you to use it at any time during the activity.

Equipment, mask, snorkel, wetsuit and flotation vests are included.

FORMOSO RIVER ECOLOGICAL PARK

The Rio Formoso Ecological Park is located just 7 km from the center of Bonito.

The buoy crossing is undoubtedly the main attraction of this park, it takes place along one of the most beautiful stretcehs of the Formoso River (1,200 m).

The tour begins with a journey through the river along an interpretive forest path on the banks of the Formoso River; After about 900 meters the descent begins downstream, passing through 3 rapids and 5 waterfalls in the company of a specialized monitor. Safety and fun guaranteed for the whole family!

The Rio Formoso Ecological Park offers other activities such as:

Formoso Trail, 2 km walk through the forest ending at the paradise pier where you can enjoy zip lines, trampolines and a bathing area full of waterfalls.

Horseback, riding along the park's trails where you can spot fauna and flora, also avaialable.

SILVER RIVER

"Wild, pure and fascinating!"

It is undoubtedly the wildest activity in Bonito and home to the largest amount and variety of fish of pretty good sizes!

Located 50 km from the center of Bonito, the Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata Trail and Floating Tour begins with the reception of passengers at the attraction, brief orientation and delivery of equipment for the tour.

The adventure begins with a pleasant walk through the forest on the banks of the Olho d'Água and Prata rivers, it has an interpretive trail and a private Natural Heritage reserve, the path passes between ancient trees, orchids and bromeliads where you can appreciate a variety of birds and mammals.

Floating is done in the Olho d'Água River (for about 2,000 meters) until it flows into the Prata River.

There is the option to travel the last 600 meters (part of the Rio da Prata) on a solar-powered boat.

Important: This Tour does not have a support boat.

WATERFALLS PARK

One Trail and Seven Waterfalls

Located 16 km from Bonito is the Parque das Cachoeiras, an immersive experience through the beauties of these waterfalls on the Mimoso River in the Sierra Bodoquena, Mato Grosso do Sul.

There are 1,700 meters of trail through the forest, along wooden walkways, visiting a spring and 7 different waterfalls, each with its own particular beauty.

During the tour there are several stops where it is possible to bathe and dive in natural pools!

MYSTERIUOS LAGOON

Located 45 km from Bonito is the Lagoa Misteriosa.

The tour begins with a small interpretive trail through the forest that surrounds the sinkhole, where you can observe the rich diversity of fauna and flora of the region.

The path leads to the lookout point, from where it is possible to contemplate all the vegetation that covers the 75-meter-deep pit and allows you to see the Lagoon.

Access is via a stairway of 185 steps. Upon reaching the access platform, visitors receive the equipment they will use to float: mask, snorkel and vest. Those who decide not to float will be able to contemplate the lagoon and marvel at the tones of blue its crystalline waters.

The floatation is indescribable, the sight of the two blue fissures that form the bottom of the lagoon, the rocky walls, the fallen logs, the deposits of white sand and the fish that shine with the beams of light, transform the Mysterious Lagoon into a unique environment.
