One of the oldest cities in Brazil, Salvador was founded in 1549.

Salvador is the capital of the state of Bahia, known for its Portuguese colonial architecture, Afro-Brazilian culture and the coastline of beautiful beaches.

Pelourinho is the historic center, with its old streets, colorful buildings and baroque churches, such as San Francisco, with woodwork covered with gold.
