Itaipu Ecomuseum

The Ecomuseum presents the history of the region from the arrival of the first humans 6,000 years ago until the colonization of our days.

Reopened in December 2002, this Ecomuseum presents several rooms with modules representing the history of the region since the arrival of the first human groups, 6,000 years ago, until the colonization of our days; large scale models reproduce the largest hydroelectric power plant on the planet; giant interactive maps illustrate the before and after of the region; display windows with archaeological pieces, geological samples and insects; environment reproducing the native forest; perfect replica of the axis of a generating unit in operation.

Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 11:30am and from 2pm to 5pm
Location: 400 meters from the Visitors Center of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant
